Göbeln, Upper Sorbian, is a town in the eastern part of the Bautzen district in Saxony and has been part of the municipality of Großdubrau since 1994. The town is located in the Upper Lusatia region and is part of the settlement area of the Sorbs.
Göbeln is situated in the Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscape about 14 kilometers northeast of Bautzen in the floodplain of the Kleine Spree. While the surrounding area to the south and the aforementioned region of Göbeln is used for agriculture, extensive forest and heath areas extend to the north.
