The Bismarck Tower in Tecklenburg is an 18 m high observation tower built in 1908–1909 in the west of the city on a ridge of the Teutoburg Forest. It is named after Otto von Bismarck.
The forerunner of the Bismarck Tower was a windmill that was built on the Windmühlenberg in 1851, but burned out in 1906 after lightning strikes. The remaining conical tower stump of the windmill was acquired in 1908 by the Bismarck Association of the Tecklenburg district and used for the construction of today's tower.
