The Lager Hase is a 12.2 km long river that originates at the confluence of the Dinklager Mühlenbach and the Aue, at the border between the city of Dinklage and the municipality of Essen. It merges with the Essener Canal 2 km west of the town center of Essen, forming the Große Hase, which makes the waterway part of the Hase inland delta. Occasionally, the 3.2 km long section of the Dinklager Mühlenbach between the confluence of the Hopener Mühlenbach and the Aue is also attributed to the Lager Hase, making it 15.4 km long according to this definition.
