By the end of 1920, the city had converted the dance hall in the former Hotel Glocke into a city theatre, supplemented by a wine bar and the theatre restaurant in the adjoining rooms. Concerts, variety and cinema screenings as well as guest performances by other ensembles were part of the programme of the Stadttheater-GmbH, which had been in existence since 1923. In 1932 there were four cinema days and two theatre days. At times it was also called UT. In 1934, the Stadttheater-AG was dissolved.
