Füchtorf is surrounded by the villages of Glandorf, Bad Laer, Versmold, Sassenberg and Milte, in the northern part of the Münsterland.

The Bever, which is formed by the confluence of the Salzbach and Süßbach streams in Glandorf/Schierloh, flows through Füchtorf in the Harkotten area. From here it forms the border between Füchtorf and Glandorf for a few kilometres, and at the same time between the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.
The highest elevation of the village is the Heppel.
The large Füchtorfer Moor is now a nature reserve.
