The Lippeaue nature reserve from Werne to Heil is located within the territories of the cities of Bergkamen and Werne in the district of Unna in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The area, which covers approximately 415 hectares, was placed under nature protection in 2007 under the key number UN-055. It extends northeast of Wethmar, a district of Lünen, and southwest of the core city of Werne along the Lippe River. The B 54 runs along the northern edge of the area, and the state road L 736 runs along the southern edge. To the southeast flows the Datteln-Hamm Canal, and to the south extends the 100-hectare Beversee nature reserve.
