The Old Town Hall of the town of Haltern am See was built 1575 - 1577 on the north side of the market square with Renaissance gables.
After significant damage from the last world war, it was rebuilt in a simplified form from 1948 to 1952.
In the years 1997/1998, it was fundamentally renewed for the first time since this reconstruction. Today, it consists of a two-story building situated at the eaves, with the ground floor open to a portico of four pointed arch arcades.
