Lower Saxony Milk Route Bike Tour 2 (of 3)

The starting point of Cycle Route 2 of the Lower Saxony Milky Way is the Hanseatic City of Stade. A guided tour through the impressive historic old town is worthwhile before heading out into the vast moor landscape. Over 55 kilometers with a flat route profile, the route leads through the Kehdinger Land in the north of the holiday region Altes Land on the Elbe River. Through the Kehdinger Moor, it leads to Hüll and Großenwörden. Four farms of the Lower Saxony Milky Way can be found in the first kilometers. The view of the moor is enchanting, with many cows and horses grazing on lush meadows. After absorbing dairy knowledge, the Moor Observer (inquire about dates) takes his guests on an informative journey through the Aschhorner Moor in Drochtersen-Aschhorn. An insight into the rural life of past times is offered by the Heimathof Hüll. At Rönndeich, the so-called "Krimistraße," there is the option to take a detour to the Hasenfleet dairy or to the iron colossus, the suspended ferry in Osten, a landmark of the German Ferry Route, following Tour 3. Once back on Route 2, the route leads via Hammah back to the starting point Stade.
Visitors can gain insights into the cowshed or milking parlor on the farms. The farms and the Hasenfleet dairy are only open by appointment. In the Altes Land on the Elbe River on Circular Route 2: Petersen and Martens farms in Drochtersen and Haak and Platz farms in Bützflethermoor (information subject to change).
In Hammah, there is a train connection to Hamburg or Cuxhaven. In the Hanseatic City of Stade, there is also a connection to S-Bahn Line 3 towards Hamburg.
