This stage first leads back to Kalteiche, where the Rothaarsteig splits. Here the trail slowly bids farewell to the Rothaargebirge and turns southeast towards the Lahn-Dill-Bergland. The finale leads the Rothaarsteig down to 230m into the former residence of the Princes of Orange. On the way there, you first encounter the natural monument Lucaseiche, with its height of 27.5m and a circumference of 3.85m, an impressive sight. Past the idyllically located Forsthaus Steinbach, the Rothaarsteig leads down into the Dilltal. The viewpoint Westerwaldblick motivates for a final ascent over the Struth, which leads you down into the Dietzhölztal. Over the Galgenberg (302m), you then enter the Oranierstadt Dillenburg. If you still need to catch the last train or do not want to wait any longer for a reward in the form of refreshment, you can walk here on a yellow-black marked access path directly into the city center of Dillenburg. Nature enthusiasts, however, continue to walk around the city of Dillenburg to the Bismarck Temple to enjoy the magnificent view of the entire city with the opposite Wilhelmsturm. Along narrow paths, you descend into the Dillenburger Old Town. The Rothaarsteig then leads you through the Hofgarten to the train station, the endpoint of the trail.
