Cala Cortina is a beach belonging to the municipality of Cartagena, close to the port and the city of Cartagena, specifically in the Santa Lucía neighborhood.
To access it from the city, one must go around the port through the Santa Lucía neighborhood and cross a tunnel. This route serves as a tourist walk, as it allows for views of the natural harbor surrounded by cliffs and mountains. The viewpoint that serves as a parking area offers views of the cove and the Mediterranean Sea. After the latest renovations, it provides a play area for children, a boardwalk, sun loungers, and umbrellas, as well as a restaurant. In 2019, the beach was selected as the second best in Spain by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler luxury travel and lifestyle magazine.[1]
