The Church of Santa Maria de l'Alhambra was completed in the early 17th century. It is located on the grounds of the Grand Mosque.
With a Latin cross plan and side chapels, the Baroque altarpiece with large Solomon columns dating from 1671 stands out, as well as the Crucifixion and the large statues of Saints Ursula and Susana by Alonso de Mena.
Her patron saint is the well-known image of Our Lady of Sorrows by Torcuato Ruiz del Peral, made between 1750 and 1760, which is carried in procession from this temple during Holy Week on one of the most beautiful thrones in Granada with the arches of the Patio dels Leóns in relief .
