GR-92. Stage 03. Cadaqués-Roses

Stage 03 of the GR-92, which connects Cadaqués with Roses, is a challenging route of 21.6 kilometers that offers a unique experience along the Costa Brava. With an accumulated altitude difference of 681 meters, this route is considered of extreme difficulty, ideal for hiking enthusiasts looking for a challenge. Along the way, hikers are rewarded with spectacular views of the Mediterranean while crossing through landscapes of cliffs, hidden coves, and typical vegetation of the region. The route mainly runs close to the water, allowing for enjoyment of the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. One of the most notable points of interest in this stage is El Bulli, the famous restaurant that was located in Cala Montjoi, near Roses. This establishment, which operated from 1962 to 2011, was known worldwide for its innovative cuisine under the direction of chefs Ferran Adrià and Albert Adrià. Although the restaurant is no longer in operation, its culinary legacy remains a reference in gastronomy. Another point of interest is the Castle of Trinidad, which majestically rises at the tip that closes the inner bay of the Gulf of Roses. This castle, built in the 18th century, offers a fascinating insight into the military history of the region and provides an excellent lookout to contemplate the surrounding landscape.
