Description

Considered the most beautiful royal square in Europe, the jewel of the 18th century architectural ensemble inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, Place Stanislas is a perfect example of French classicism. Built by Emmanuel Héré, it is surrounded by finely worked gates enhanced with gold, made by the ironworker Jean Lamour, and majestic fountains designed by Barthélémy Guibal. The Town Hall, the Opera-Theatre and the Museum of Fine Arts occupy part of the square.
