Le Cimetière Militaire de Vic-sur-Aisne

During the Great War, soldiers were buried in every nook and cranny near the combat zones.
A first cemetery was set up at the end of the route de Fontenoy, at the mouth of the Chapeaumont gut.
Then, in November 1921, at the suggestion of the military authorities, the bodies were transferred to the Vic-sur-Aisne cemetery.

Located on the outskirts of the town, this 9,385 m² necropolis contains 3,046 bodies, including 932 in ossuaries, as well as four Second World War graves.

You can also visit a Muslim grave, where Ma Yi Pao, a member of the Foreign Legion and the only Chinese soldier to have died for France, is buried.
