Drawing from the Romanesque and Byzantine repertoire, Charles Luciani created a new building, a place of worship that recalls that this church was the oldest in the city. In the same way, it allowed him to use decorative elements reused in the Art Deco such as the Romanesque friezes "sawtooth", the chevrons, the dentils, the motifs in panels, the stylized capitals. This church is of great symbolic richness. The original building was destroyed during the First World War. Its reconstruction was completed in 1930.
