The fort of Condé is a very beautiful example of the military architecture of the late 19th century. Not far from the Chemin des Dames, between Laon and Soissons, this historical monument belongs to the defense system designed by General Séré de Rivières after the defeat of 1870. It is part of the French fortification tradition from Vauban to Maginot. Partially destroyed during the First World War, it was designed to house six hundred men, their officers, horses and ammunition. Climb up to the assault of this bastion built in ashlars... Trails, arboretum, picnic area and panorama await you! Free visit, audio-guided, with guide on information.
