The Pays de Bitche has a dozen peat bog ponds, most of which are protected because of the exceptional flora they shelter. At the Hanau pond, a path entirely renovated in the summer of 2018, is laid out on gratings and marked out with explanatory panels to help you understand the rarity and fragility of this natural environment. From May to September, carnivorous plants, all kinds of cranberries and graceful dragonflies can be observed. The trail continues in the forest with the discovery of the main local trees.
