Champneuville is a village that was still standing in 1915 (as this photo of Lieutenant Barbier, stationed at the "Côtelettes" shows (Sutera-Sardo collection)
In the Meuse, there are many villages that were destroyed by the 1914 - 1918 war. Small villages without history that were suddenly seized by History. Many of their inhabitants, forced to leave the country, came back and rebuilt after much effort.
This exhibition is a testimony to the long memory of the two villages of Champneuville. It was made possible by the discovery of archival "treasures": old notebooks, old photos, oral testimonies? and by the good will of all those who felt concerned by the need to remember?
Secretariat of the town hall open from Wednesday to Thursday from 8H30 to 12H00.
