Here in this cemetery, a plaque indicates that 2890 German soldiers are buried here. As you explore this cemetery, you'll see Jewish crosses, as well as an alignment of crosses in circles in a space of grass and trees. The cemetery bears witness to the many victims of the 14-18 war. Lieutenant Alexander Von Siebold, a member of the Von Zeppelin family and inventor of airships, is buried here.
For further historical information, contact the tourist office, which can show you where to find the Observatory Blockhouse and the Illies memorial footpath.
There are also around twenty blockhouses at La Bouchaine.
