The fortified church of Saint-Médard de Prisces dates back to the 12th century (nave and choir). Initially built of white stone, it was enhanced in the 16th century with an imposing square keep of red and glazed brick. Some of the cornices are decorated with modillions (human figures and animal heads). The keep, the tallest in Thiérache, stands 27 meters high, the equivalent of a 6-storey building. The church is currently closed to the public, as part of restoration work scheduled to last until 2027.
A few meters below the church, don't miss the village washhouse.
