Since Milly, Lamartine, as a child, would race down the slopes of Monsard to reach Bussières and the lessons of Abbé Dumont. The latter rests behind the listed church of the village. From Monsard (407 meters) and the mountain of Cras (505 meters), the horizon undulates over the landscape so familiar to the poet.
