Interpretative trail 'Guémar through the ages'

The interpretive trail "Guémar through the Ages" offers a 1h30 loop and invites visitors to make a round trip to the pond of Canardière (expect 1h) where, guided by "Norbert, the Mallard duck," they will "experience" an astonishing wild duck hunt in the middle of winter (explanatory panels illustrating duck hunting).

The interpretive trail "Guémar through the Ages" guides visitors through the streets of the village. Along the route, visitors discover the following themes:

- the atmosphere of the old washhouses on the banks of the Fecht and the work of the washerwomen,

- fishing and transportation (especially of wine) by water, which were some of the occupations of the people of Guémar during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance at the Ladhof site (former fishing port),

- the village of Guémar, an old crossing and control point for goods by land and water, which the now-vanished Château du Molkenbourg contributed to the fortifications,

- the festive meals of the lords and the feasts laden with exquisite dishes during the Middle Ages,

- the tobacco drying houses and the important role of tobacco cultivation,

- the wild duck hunting at the pond of Canardière.
