Refuge Fuchiade and the Ladin cuisine:
Can a mountain hut serve haute cuisine? In the Dolomites, yes, and at a reasonable price too. Due to the cross-pollination between three cultures, the level is high everywhere. According to many, Sergio Rossi of Refuge Fuchiade (a one-hour walk from the Passo San Pellegrino) even deserves a Michelin star. His belly testifies to the enjoyment of his work, as do the always full Stubes of his restaurant (reservations are recommended, 0039-0462574281). Here, you will be served Ladin dishes.
Tip: his recipe book, Ricette Tradizionali Ladine, is available on-site. With a small Italian dictionary, you'll get quite far. Enjoy!
