The Refuge St. Maximin, also Hôtel Saint Maximin, in Luxembourg was the local establishment of the Trier Abbey of St. Maximin and is today the seat of the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The Abbey of St. Maximin had been endowed in Luxembourg since ancient times. Its bailiff, Count Siegfried I, founder of the city and the country of Luxembourg, acquired a Roman watchtower from it in 963, which he expanded into the castle Lucilinburhuc, the nucleus of the present city.
