The Windlust was originally built in 1818 as a ground sailer and was raised to a scaffolding mill in 1886. The mill has a complete peeling plant, only the peeling stones have been removed. These are currently on the ground floor. The mill has been restored several times and is now owned by the municipality of Het Hogeland. The mill is put into operation once a week on a voluntary basis.
