Kuinre is an old fishing town that used to have a sailing connection with the Zuiderzee. There are several old buildings and facades, such as the boterwaag from 1648 (located 80 m from the route in the Henric de Cranestraat). During the reclamation of the Noordoostpolder, remains of two castles were found, including those of robber baron Henri de Crane. You will find the remains on the castle hill in the Kuinderbos.
