The Church of St. Catherine or Church of the Cross is named after Saint Catherine of Alexandria. In the front façade is an effigy of her. The sign of the Cross of the Cross is also present here and there in the building.
As a result of the capitulation of 's-Hertogenbosch after the Siege of 's-Hertogenbosch, the church became Protestant. The Catholic paintings of Pieter Jozef Verhagen were stored in hidden churches. Because there were few Protestants in 's-Hertogenbosch, the church was given a different purpose. For example, the church was used as a horse stable.
After the decree of Napoleon Bonaparte, the church was returned to the Catholics. However, the building was very damaged and partly dilapidated.
