The Strijbeekse Heide is a nature reserve that is located north of Strijbeek. It measures 239 ha and is owned by Staatsbosbeheer. This former heathland was mined from 1932 and partly planted with coniferous wood and partly transformed into an agricultural area. However, a number of fens and the surrounding moor remnants were spared. These are Rondven, Langven, Zwarte Goor and Goudbergven. From 1990 onwards, desiccation began, the fens were dredged, heathlands were taped off and recreational meadows were removed and also taped.
