The Stone Table
The right mill (seen in the direction of the current) served as a grain mill until around 1875 and was then converted into a chicory factory. It burned down in 1880 and was rebuilt the following year. The municipality of Borculo bought this mill in 1957. After restoration, the building was leased to the Vlessert family, who established a restaurant there. In 1994, the management of the restaurant was transferred to the current restaurant owners Raymond Prinsen (chef) and Gea Meppelink. From 1999 to 2011, the restaurant had a Michelin star. In December 2010, it was announced that the restaurant would close on April 1, 2011.[1] In 2019, a new catering company named Proeflokaal 01 was established in the building. In the restaurant, behind a fence, you can see the gear driven by the waterwheel.
The Olliemölle
This mill is the smaller of the two and, as the name suggests, was built as an oil mill. In 1920, it was converted into a grain mill. In 1924, the municipality bought this mill; since 1978, this part of the complex has also been used as a restaurant. In 2008, this bistro received a Bib Gourmand from Michelin.
