Fort C in Muiden is better known by the name Muizenfort, a reference to the color of the uniform jackets of the soldiers who were stationed here during World War II. In the fort, you will find a small museum exhibit that tells you more about the history of Muiden and an (unmanned) tourist information point where you can find brochures and routes in Muiden and the surrounding area.
The museum consists of an indoor exhibition in the Muizenfort and a trench circuit on the site of the front walls with various facilities that connects the fort from 1874 with an original Dutch (Pyramid) group shelter from the mobilization period of 1939-1940, an observation post, and a former G-(machine gun) casemate. The Foundation Restoration has laid out the trench circuit and has begun excavating the group shelter.
