As is often the case with estates like Randenbroek, it happened here too. First, there was a farmstead that, due to its favorable location, could grow into an impressive country house. The 'broek' is the name derived from a marshy area, in this case located at the foot of a slope of the Utrecht Hill Ridge. In the 17th century, painter Jacob van Campen lived in Randenbroek. Two centuries later, H. van Lunteren, the renowned landscape architect, was a resident of Randenbroek. His fondness for parks in the English landscape style was also expressed here. The house was last restored in 1959.
