Father Louis van Laer celebrated his silver jubilee as a priest in 1946 and was presented with a statue of the Sacred Heart as a gift from his parishioners. The sandstone statue was made by Peter Roovers.
The statue consists of a standing figure of Christ, dressed in draped robes. He holds both his arms down at his sides and shows the stigmata in his hands. The Sacred Heart is visible on his chest. Angel heads or cobblestones can be seen at his feet.
