Description

The Danikerbos is a forest that flanks the Geleenbeek. On one side is a large fishing pond and on the other side you climb the Danikerberg. This hill is
the highest point in the area and used to be a grim place. This is where members of the notorious gang of robbers, the Bokkenrijders, were hanged.
Typical for the Danikerberg are the grafts. These are small, overgrown slopes in an open area. They ensure that animals move ( unseen by the
enemy) and are therefore very important. Grafts are a characteristic landscape element for South Limburg. Researchers don't know exactly how they came to be!
