The current San Salvatorkerk is an example of the course in ecclesiastical architecture, which was given in 's-Hertogenbosch in the years 1953 to 1956 under the direction of Nico van der Laan. It has stylistic characteristics of the Bossche School and Neo-Romanesque architecture. The church is built around the altar as a centerpiece. The free-standing bell tower is inspired by the "Campanile", as it is often found in Italian churches, among others. In the first sketch model, the tower is still attached to the main building, but in the final design, a free-standing location has been chosen.
