Die heutige San Salvatorkirche ist ein Beispiel für den Kurs Kirchenarchitektur, der von 1953 bis 1956 in 's-Hertogenbosch unter der Leitung von Nico van der Laan angeboten wurde. Sie weist Stilmerkmale der Bossche Schule und der neo-romantischen Architektur auf. Die Kirche wurde rund um den Altar als Mittelpunkt erbaut. Der freistehende Glockenturm ist inspiriert von der "Campanile", wie sie unter anderem bei italienischen Kirchen häufig vorkommt. In der ersten Entwurfsskizze war der Turm noch mit dem Hauptgebäude verbunden, aber im endgültigen Entwurf wurde ein freistehender Standort gewählt.
