After 1648, the practice of the Roman Catholic religion was permanently forbidden in and around Breda. Four years later, four hidden churches were set up in the city. One of those buildings still exists, the house 'De Wereld on the corner' of the Vismarktstraat and the Schoolstraat. On the side of the Schoolstraat you can see that it is a very deep building. A corner house with two entrances was considered an ideal church opportunity. The house was probably used as a hidden church until 1666. The building was provisionally furnished as a church space. Above the altar hung a Christmas scene that came from the Grote Kerk. Pieces of cloth were hung on the walls all around to prevent the churchgoers from turning their clothes white when they leaned against the wall. Studio Dependance is now located in this building.
