The building at Burgemeester Eliasstraat 72-74 in Amsterdam-Slotermeer has been a municipal monument since 2011.
In 1954, a new St. Catherine's Church was built on this site after the old church was demolished in 1939. The church was completed based on a design by the architectural firm Evers and Sarlemijn, which handled the tender in July 1954. Construction was scheduled to begin around November 30 and would take more than a year. The church is a three-nave basilica with a rectangular floor plan, built under the influence of the Bossche School. The style is strongly influenced by Roman and early Christian architecture.
