Initially, the water supply for the steam trams in Zeeuws Vlaanderen was an unsolvable
problem. During the years 1914-1918 water was taken from a pond, which was built along the line
Drieschouwen-Roodesluis and which had sufficient supply to supply 50m3 of water daily. In
In 1921 the drought was so severe that water from the Sluis-Bruges canal was brought in by tram and
was distributed over the various water stations, including in Drieschouwen. But because of the bad
Water quality (salt) destroyed boilers and other materials. In 1922 the ship 'Risk',
in which concrete reservoirs were placed, purchased by the ZVTM. With this ship, known as
the 'Zeevlatram', was purchased in Hansweert water from the Zuid Beveland water company and
unloaded into tanks in Terneuzen. From Terneuzen, it was done with a water tram, consisting of open
Trucks with tanks placed on them to the various water stations. From Belgium there was also
