The giant sequoia or mammoth tree occurs naturally in California and can reach up to 100 meters in height, with a circumference of 25 meters. It is resistant to forest fires. Sequoia is evergreen, has blue-gray needles, and a thick, soft, brown-red bark. This is also where its nickname "boxing tree" comes from: you can hit it without hurting your hand. The wood is of exceptional quality and is popular because of its attractive color. The oldest living tree is 2000 to 3000 years old. A young sapling already costs around €3000. The giant sequoia was likely planted at the end of the last century during the construction of the area.
