At the top of the hill that dominates the entire historic district stands the Hermitage of San Roque, one of the oldest in the south of Tenerife. The origins of this hermitage are unclear, but it is believed to have been built by the Soler family in the early 17th century.
The chapel was donated by the Soler family in 1614. The building was very modest, because in 1778 the visitor Gaspar Álvarez de Castro indicated that it needed to be enlarged because it was low. However, it remained very simple with its bell tower , as it still stands today.
