Todas las viviendas de Heppeneert se construyeron a lo largo del lado oeste de la Maasdijk. A finales de 1990, se excavó en un campo el mayor depósito de hachas de la fase final de la Edad del Bronce (siglo VIII a.C.) en Bélgica. El hallazgo en Heppeneert contenía 47 hachas y una punta de lanza de bronce. La Fundación Rey Balduino lo compró en 1992.
