Boirs se encuentra en la frontera lingüística en el valle del Jeker. El núcleo del pueblo está al sur de la carretera de Tongeren a Wezet, que en Beurs tiene una conexión con la autopista A13/E313. También la línea de tren de Tongeren a Aquisgrán atraviesa la parte del municipio. Hasta 1957, Boirs tenía su propia estación a lo largo de la línea de tren. Boirs es una aldea residencial en Droog-Haspengouw. La agricultura está principalmente presente en forma de cultivo de cereales. La parte del municipio también incluye el caserío Once, que se sitúa al este del núcleo del pueblo.
