El Postelvaartje fue realmente excavado para regar los campos. El 'obelisco' que se encuentra aquí es una antigua piedra límite. En su momento marcaba el punto donde se unían nada menos que 7 señorías: Bergeijk, Luykgestel, Mol, Balen, Lommel, Dessel y Postel.
Se cree que fue colocado a principios del siglo XVII. A partir de 1843 perdió su función, cuando la nueva Bélgica incorporó 122 hectáreas. La piedra desapareció bajo tierra, pero fue excavada nuevamente para reorganizar el sitio en 1981.
