Il Postelvaartje è stato effettivamente scavato per irrigare i campi. L' 'obelisco' che si trova qui è una vecchia pietra di confine. All'epoca segnava il punto in cui si univano ben 7 signorie: Bergeijk, Luykgestel, Mol, Balen, Lommel, Dessel e Postel.
Presumibilmente fu collocato all'inizio del 17° secolo. A partire dal 1843, perse la sua funzione, quando il nuovo Belgio ottenne 122 ettari. La pietra scomparve sotto terra ma fu riesumata per riorganizzare il sito nel 1981.
