Cuando te encuentras frente al Castillo de Poeke con su fachada rosa, podrías jurar que estás a la orilla del Loira y uno de sus muchos castillos. No es el famoso río castillo francés, sino el modesto arroyo Poekebeek que murmura a lo largo de sus muros. Alrededor del castillo se extiende el hermoso parque boscoso de Poeke, donde puedes disfrutar de la naturaleza y el silencio durante horas. El Castillo de Poeke tiene su origen en el siglo XI, pero alcanzó su apogeo bajo Victor Pycke de Peteghem, quien compró el castillo en 1872. En la antigua casa de los carruajes puedes visitar el Centro de Educación Ambiental, donde puedes explorar la historia de la formación del paisaje en Poeke y sus alrededores. Poeke fue alguna vez cantado por Guido Gezelle y todavía irradia bastante atmósfera.
