La Steenstraat es una antigua calle que atraviesa varios municipios de West Flandes. La vía data de la época romana. Era una antigua carretera de conexión (diverticulum) entre Kassel en el norte de Francia y Aardenburg en la actual Zelanda Flamenca. La carretera probablemente existía antes de la época romana y fue rectificada y pavimentada por ellos, o se construyó nueva tras la transgresión del mar. La carretera pavimentada existió durante siglos.
