Situado en Calestienne, a los pies de la roca de Turmont, entre Han-sur-Lesse y Ave-et-Auffe, este estanque alguna vez tuvo un carácter más salvaje, pero en los últimos años ha sido acondicionado por el propietario como zona de pesca, con plantaciones, orillas artificiales y la construcción de pequeñas infraestructuras. Aunque las orillas todavía albergan una vegetación espontánea con especies de la megaflora, como la espadaña (Filipendula ulmaria) y el eupatorio canábico (Eupatorium cannabinum), la vegetación acuática, en cambio, está prácticamente ausente. A pesar de ello, el lugar sigue teniendo un cierto atractivo para la fauna de insectos, especialmente para las libélulas. Los bordes florecientes son particularmente atractivos para algunas raras mariposas de los pastizales de caliza cercanos.
