Para celebrar su recuperación, los hijos de Madame la duquesa de Orleans tuvieron erigir un pequeño monumento cilíndrico cerca del famoso manantial de La Sauvenière. Había viajado a Spa en 1787 para recibir una cura.
El monumento está hecho de madera pintada imitando mármol blanco. Durante la Revolución Francesa, el 6 de diciembre de 1792, el monumento fue destruido .
En 1837, Luisa María de Orleans (una de las hijas de la señora duquesa de Orleans) pidió a su padre, el rey de Francia, que restaurara el monumento . El monumento fue restaurado el 27 de julio de 1841. Ese mismo año, el monarca francés Luis Felipe envió un monumento realizado en piedra de Namur, inspirado en el antiguo monumento.
Esta es la inscripción grabada en el monumento :
EN AGRADECIMIENTO, EN AGOSTO DE 1787, A LAS AGUAS DE LA SAUVENIERE QUE HABÍAN DEVUELTO LA SALUD A SEÑORA DUQUESA DE ORLEÁNS, SUS HIJOS QUISIERON DEDICAR UN RECUERDO DE ESTE ACONTECIMIENTO, QUE LES ESTÁ CERCANO.
AL ERIGIR ESTE MONUMENTO AL FINAL DEL BOSQUE QUE CAMINABAN CON SU DULCE MADRE
ESTE MONUMENTO FUE DESTRUIDO EL 6 DE DICIEMBRE DE 1792
FUE RESTAURADA POR ORDEN DE SM LUIS FELIPE I
REY DE LOS FRANCESES, 1 DE JULIO DE 1841
El texto no es exactamente el mismo que en 1787: la Revolución ha llegado y se ha ido, y las costumbres han cambiado. El 7 de junio de 1843, el monarca francés hizo colocar una valla metálica alrededor del monumento ; la realizó el cerrajero Moressée.
