La plaza Woodrow Wilson o 'el Sur' forma el límite de ‘El barrio del Circo’ en Gante. Este barrio se extiende hasta la plaza de San Pedro y floreció de 1880 a 1960. Antiguamente, había una gran estación de tren en esta plaza, la estación del Sur. Con el teatro Minard, el local de fiestas Vooruit, el zoológico en el parque Muink y el Nuevo Circo, este era el barrio en Gante donde tenías que estar en el siglo XIX para entretenimiento.
