El castillo de Falkenstein, anteriormente también conocido como castillo de Nuevo Falkenstein, es un castillo elevado de la alta edad media en el Harz. Pertenece al municipio de Falkenstein/Harz en el distrito de Harz de Sajonia-Anhalt. Fue construido entre 1120 y 1180. El castillo es administrado por la Fundación Cultural de Sajonia-Anhalt como propietario.
El castillo de Falkenstein se encuentra en el Bajo Harz, en el parque natural del Harz. Se sitúa entre Mägdesprung y Meisdorf sobre un risco, al sur y por encima del molino de Thalmühle, que se encuentra en el valle del Selke. En un paisaje arbolado, está rodeado por el área de conservación natural de Selketal, a aproximadamente 1,3 km al oeste-noroeste de la casa de jardín de Falkenstein, situada entre los pueblos de Meisdorf y Pansfelde, junto a la carretera estatal 230.
